Our experienced staff can teach you the skills you need to be able to do many different projects. We provide the following:

• Sewing Classes with free B.Y.O.M. (Bring Your Own Machine) Option

​

We offer project based classes and quickly get into learning

how to use a sewing machine which includes:

 

• Learning the Various Parts of the Machine & their Functions w/Safety Tips

​

• Learning to Thread the Machine & Needle

​

• Learning How to Control the Fabric w/Fingers Practing Straight, Curves, Turning Corners and Locking Stitches

 

Sewing lessons develop many skills; fine motor ability, hand and eye coordination, increased attention to/focus on detail, and the general ability to use a sewing machine along with sewing essentials such as scissors, rotary cutters, measuring tools and other sewing tools. Sewing is a skill you can use for life. We not only support students in becoming successful at design but we drive home other lessons learned from sewing such as the power of patience, discipline and the importance of recognizing their own potential.

The experiential learning activities in the sewing curriculum are designed to provide a positive learning experience for everyone. Sewing students are encouraged to focus on the fun, experience, and accomplishments attained in the project rather than on attaining "perfection."

We believe that teaching the basic skills of sewing through simple projects will give you the experience and confidence you need to develop your own direction for sewing garments, home decor, craft projects, embelishments, the possibilities are endless.

GENERAL CLASSES:

 

Classes meet once per week for 6 weeks and are 3hours. Seating is based on a first come first serve basis, so register right away. Sewing Machines and fabric are provided, if you use the B.Y.O.M. option, please bring along the manual. 

​

Patterns & Sewing Kits are not included. Students must purchase patterns & kits seperately. Kits must have:

 

• Scissors 

• Chalk

• Needles

• Bobbins

• Straight Pins

• Ruler

• Seam Ripper

• Thread

Registration Fee- $25 (New Students Only)

Cost Per Class- $35 (3hr Sessions)

​

Prepay for 6 weeks of classes for only $180.00.

​

Classes will be offered on Mondays 9:00am-1:00pm.

​

If you are absent from your class, we do not offer a refund or make up class. 



PRIVATE CLASSES:

​

Cost Per Class- $60 (2hr Sessions)

​​

Student will have the opportunity to work with industrial sewing machines. Sewing kit and patterns requited but

are not included.

​

WORKSHOPS:

​

Cost Per Class- $60 (4hr Sessions)

​

Our one day workshops will be offered on Wednesdays from 9:00am-1:00pm.

​

Various crafts will be taught and announced on this site.

Some of the crafts will be bowtie making, clothing making, shoe covering, furniture reupholstery and more.

CLASS SAFETY

​

Safety first, we take great care to teach the basics of safety and to empower our students, teaching them that they are in control of the sewing machine. 

 

*Parents should strongly consider if they feel their child has the self control required to start and stop a sewing machine while maneuvering fabric before signing up for this program.​
